Coffee ''Decaf''???!

Question:

Coffee ''Decaf''???

If I drink coffee without cafeine, would that still make me stay awake? i mean, the difference between coffee with caffeine, and coffee without caffeine, has to do only with the health?

Answers:
Caffeine is the ingredient in coffee that effects the central nervous system and makes you wide awake.

There are 2 ways to remove the caffeine. One is with water. This is the best way. The other is with chemicals, and it turns out the chemicals are more addictive than the caffeine.

However if you want to stay awake, and do not want the jitters, drink tea. It has the same amount of caffeine, but it effects the brain not the central nervous system, so no jitters. If you can't have caffeine, I am not sure how you find out which method is used to remove it and make it decaff.

good question... I'm not a genius....

Caffeine is what gives coffee that stay awake power. Decaf coffee has most of the caffeine removed and therefore will not keep you awake

though decaf coffee has caffeine taken out of it there is still caffeine in it which will keep you awake, I'm not sure how much caffeine is taken out since it varies by the brand you get undoubtedly there will still be some in it. caffeine dehydrates the body and it takes about 5 hours to come out of your system depending on the amount you drink (so try and drink your last cup a few hours before bed). if you are drinking coffee maybe try an isotonic drink after to reverse the effects of the dehydration. Coffee in the right amount will cause a "hangover" much the same as you would get with alcohol. changing to decaf is a wise choice health wise. some athletes use caffeine to help them train but it is quite controversial since it dehydrates the body which can decrease performance.

No, the caffeine keeps you awake, too. It's a stimulant.
