Macaroni Cheese Recipe? Using Cream?!

Question:

Macaroni Cheese Recipe? Using Cream?

I was reading a recipe on how to make macaroni cheese and it says to use cream, instead of milk. But it doesn't say which kind of cream. I've got single cream and was wondering if anyone know if I can use that. I want to try and use it up the single cream that I got I mean. Thanks.

Answers:
single cream will be fine

Use what you have. Don't worry. Any kind of cream will work. The more butterfat in the cream, the richer the taste.

Try mixing an egg also into mixture for extra shine and creamy texture. any cream works for me.

cream, both light cream(half and half) and heavycream(whipping) are used to make things richer in taste and texture. Cream can almost always be used in place of milk in recipes. For macaroni and cheese, well, it makes it just delicious. Take about 2 cups of cooked pasta, any kind will do, and about 2 tablespoons butter, 1/2 cup heavy cream and 4 slices of american cheese or about 1/2 cup of your favorite cheese shredded finely. Just mix it all up and reheat in a pan, in the microwave or my favorite is to bake it in the oven at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes!

Your cream on hand will work for your recipe.

Yes it means single cream, I use it in my macaroni. I cook the macaroni in water with a couple of chicken cubes, so much tastier than the normal plain water.

Single cream is ideal for a creamy cheese sauce for any kind of pasta or vegetables.
