If pancake box says to add eggs and milk, can I add only water in order ...?!

Question:

If pancake box says to add eggs and milk, can I add only water in order ...?

to make them less thick . i also dont have mixing machine.
I bought once pancake powder that didnt require milk and eggs so I wonder if this time works...

Answers:
Pancake mixes that have you add water already have the dried egg and powdered milk in the mix. If the mix call for milk and egg, it will not be as fluffy and tender if you just add water. You do not need a machine to make pancakes. The batter should still have small lumps in it when you use it. Do not over-beat.

Try it, if you like it, do it again.

i am not a milk drinker so sometimes if a recipe calls for milk i mix water with non-dairy coffee creamer and it seems to work just fine.

no!, some pancake mixes only require water but if the one you bought require eggs and milk, water is not a substitution, if you want to make them thinner add more milk.
Good luck!

Just follow the directions to the mix but add a little more milk, you have to play around with it to get it the way you want them to be. Add a few tablespoons more of milk it will make the batter thinner.

Sure! Those directions on the box are just the manufacturer's opinion of how their dish should be cooked!

well if ya dont add eggs er milk then it will be rather less dramatic but ifn ye aint got nuthing else:

I wouldn't use water instead of milk (it'll take some of the flavor away), and you must put the eggs in to keep the pancakes from turning into mush. I forget to put the eggs in things like pancakes all the time. Never turns out well. The pancake mix you used that needed only water probably contained a substance that does the same thing as eggs, and a little bit of artificial flavoring to give you the same taste.

no, if it says you have to add milk and eggs, you do. i tried this once before and it doesn't turn out pretty. the ones you just add water too already have powdered forms of the other ingredients in them.

powdered eggs and oil are ingredients already added to some types of pancake mix ...krusteaze for instance... so all those ready to cook types which have the eggs and oil already added say "just add water" you can make a really good pancake using 1 C flour, 1/2 pkg yeast....enough water to make a batter like pancakes...let set till foamy and cook these Yeast Pancakes like the others... no one will believe they dont have eggs and oil...just the flour, yeast, and water!
