How can you tell is yogurt has gone bad?!

Question:

How can you tell is yogurt has gone bad?

We have yogurt in our fridge from several months ago and it still smells good and tastes the same. My roommate tried it.

Answers:
If it looks good, and smells good, then it's probably good. Yogurt has live cultures in it that continue to ferment over time, so it will probably taste stronger than when it was fresh. In addition, you might notice that there is a watery substance that has separated from the milk solids. This does not mean the yogurt has spoiled. If the color has changed, though, pitch it!

look at the date on it

I wouldnt eat it, but usually there is mold growing in it or on it, and it smells slightly sour.

=]

1. expiration date
2. funky smell
3. it looks dry or moldy

If it looks and smells ok they it most likely is ok, I keep yoghurt for months.

When it goes off it develops a fur on the top of the yoghurt.

usualy you can tell that it has gone bed when it has a evtra layer on that top of it

yogurt acctaully has a long refrigerator life
there should be a date on it
if it is over 2 weeks over the expiration date
dont eat it
but otherwise i would think it would be ok
