Is kingsford match light a good charcoal for barbecuing?!

Question:

Is kingsford match light a good charcoal for barbecuing?

I just bought a 2 pack today of kingsford match light. I heard that it is a bad charcoal for barbecuing. Is this true? Should i go back to the store to return it? Thanks!

Answers:
I don't like it, the food tastes like charcoal lighter, If I had to use it I would let the coals burn down quite a bit before grilling

It isnt so bad - if you arent happy with it you could always buy some oak chunks or hickory chunks to the bbq for a better flavor ( your friends will wonder why you make the best steaks )plus with match light the preparation is so much easier (just make sure you keep it dry .

That is what we always used when we barbecued and it always turned out fine. Kingsford has been my favorite brand of charcoal andwhen we buy we always buy kingsford.

Of course I use it and I'm very well please with it and the taste of the food that it adds to it.

i use it,don't know about it being bad.but i don't think you should use any of it too often, like every day.if you use wood chips wet them before they are put on the fire, you know keep them damp makes more smoke, more flavor.

No in fact it is great for bbq. That is what I prefer to use and I grill about 2-3 times a week.
I have a friend who used to be a cook at a local steakhouse and they used Kingsford.

We always buy Kingsford, It works very well and last longer than other brands
