Is my garlic bad?!

Question:

Is my garlic bad?

I put my garlic in the fridge and it looks funny. The papery cover has streaks of purple in it. When I peel it the garlic looks fine but I'm not sure if its still good.

Answers:
I think your garlic is still fine. Mexican garlic, for example, is sold in stores interchangeably with normal garlic and that variety naturally has purple streaks in the paper. As long as your garlic is still firm and there aren't any green sprouts growing out of it, it's fine.

Maybe the garlic reacted with the paper you put over it? That's wierd though!! Sorry I couldn't help.

I do not know what kind of garlic but I keep my garlic on top of the stove with the spices.

that means its bad if there are little green sprouts coming out of it and the papery outside of it is purple, your not even supposed to put garlic in the fridge, the cold makes it lose its flavor.

na it is good ..no worries man just eat it .....

Garlic should not be stored in the refridgerator when its whole.
