i tried it for three months and i just felt that i was missing something in me (meat) and i notice i was too weak so i quit

Consult a naturopathic doctor first. They are highly trained in healthy nutrition and can make a realistic dietary plan with you. I reccommend Moosewood cookbooks for great vegetarian recipes.

go veggie it is great i have so much energy and i am so happy but now i wont to take it to the next level and go vegan!!!

Many people say it's not healthy to be a vegetarian because you need meat in your body, but that's not true. There's loads of ways to get the protein you need in your body by eating foods such as soy meat, beans, chick peas, tempeh, tofu. Tofu may sound totally repulsive to you but there's a variety of ways you can eat it that are delicious. You could fry it in a curry and serve it over rice, or fry it with peanut sauce and serve it over noodles, etc. Chick peas may sound gross too, but they can be made into a salad with a dressing, pepper, lemon and other flavorings, carrots, cucumber, etc. Hummus (a dip for chips or a spread for bread) is also made of chick peas, and is actually quite good.

Buy a vegetarian cookbook maybe, and you'll find plenty of veggie recipies that are appealing and super tasty!

And FYI, as some people think, being vegetarian doesn't mean only eating vegetables!

Good luck!

There are some pretty good veggie burgers on the market. Also i,m including a really good chocolate cake vegan recipe.

No offense to vegetarians but, why go vegetarian when there are so many things you can't have? I mean, come on! On Thanksgiving, you can't have turkey but you can have tofurkey. I like tofu, but not enough to have it at a thanksgiving feast.

OMG go vegetarian you wont regret it just make sure eat well BALANCED meals!!!!! the animals will thank you!!!!!

no i am not a vegetarian, but some of my friends are. they only tried it for 2 months. most of em got tired in the end. its torture! unless you are really confident in yourself and try your hardest in staying away from meat, you won't get the hang of having to eat vegetables everyday.
be confident in yourself, you wanna be vegetarian, be it!

Yes, do it! It's the best thing I ever did. If you're seriously thinking about it then I probably don't need to go into all of the reasons to go veggie.

Try it for at least a month and see how you feel. Experiment with different dishes because you'll just get bored and be unlikely to stick to it otherwise.

Don't listen to the people who try to put you off and who roll their eyes when you say you're vegetarian. They've either been filled with rubbish about being malnutritioned, or they'll feel uncomfortable that you're making them think about something they've buried their head in the sand over.

One other thing, read up on it! The more you learn the better it is for your health and your inspiration, and the more prepared you'll be to shut people up why try to fill you with nonsense!

Good luck :-)

watch that video, it will help alot

If it is hard for you to give up meat, just eat chicken and turkey and cut out red meat. Once you adjust to this you can go full vegetarian.

Choose a method of starting it; cold-turkey or slowly ease off the meat.

The first full day you are a vegetarian, I suggest that be the day you go to the market. You'll have to get things to eat besides meat.

Don't forget to be proud about it! Good luck!

Good luck with the vegetarianism. Kay

Congratulations! :-) I would read "A Teenager's Guide To Going Vegetarian" or to goveg.com

To get protein, eat nuts, milk, cheese, edimomi, etc. I always carry around 1 or 2 granola bars with me incase I need a boost during the day. Brown rice with veggies is good, pasta, etc. Just don't replace A LOT of meat with cheese, it's not the best choice. Salads are good, soups, etc.

aw good idea ^_^

i've been one for about 3 years, i love how i am and i love avoiding meat. i just think it's gross. there are so many health benefits that come along with your choice of becoming vegetarian also.

my suggestion?
avoid bbq's and steakhouses lol ^_^

good luck, stay healthy.

Yeah, watch this, it's what's going to keep me from eating meat.

TAKE VITAMINS!!!!! i've been vegetarian for...hmm...almost nine months now!! but you will be really hungry really often and your skin might get lighter if you don't take iron vitamins. the vitamins will keep your body strong. make sure you've got iron!!! =]

are your parents supportive (if that's a factor)? i didn't tell them at first, just sorta stopped eating meat...somewhat unintentionally, but nvm. if they aren't, just prove to them you can do it and then ask them.

is it something that you really want to do and why are you doing it? because if you aren't determined to keep at it, you'll probably just give up and go back to eating meat. but if you do persevere, it will eventually become habit and the thought of eating meat won't even occur to you anymore.

would you eat eggs? i do (only chicken eggs, though, i hate fish eggs), but some of my friends don't and i honestly don't know how they survive. there are eggs in literally everything-- almost all pastries and desserts have them, too.

would you eat fish? i don't, but that's because i dislike fish. just make these choices and then stick to them. if they clearly don't work for you change them, obviously, but make the descision to keep at the vegetarianism until it becomes force of habit.

check the ingredients!! i've accidentally eaten chicken because i didn't check the ingredients. but i don't know why there was chicken in my mozzarella ball, but still, check the ingredients.

that's all i got. =] i hope it helped.

it is easy as, you don't realise until you are one, how many options there are
