Raw steak left out overnight, is it bad?!

Question:

Raw steak left out overnight, is it bad?

I am so mad at myself. I fixed a steak last night, but there were two in the pack so I seasoned the other one and wrapped it in foil for later. Then I forgot to put it in the fridge! It sat on the counter, raw and wrapped in foil, from 11 pm Sat night until 2 pm Sun night, room temp of 70 degrees.

Is it trashed? Or can I still cook it and eat it as long as it's cooked all the way through.

do not eat it. you will get sick. i did that myself once..could have kicked myself in the ***. So sorry.

Throw it away. Potentially hazardous food must be thrown away if left in the danger zone (40F-140F) for more than four hours.

bleh, i would think it's bad. darn! too bad...

Trashed for sure.
Potentially dangerous to eat now.

When in doubt....Throw it out

hell yea. can you say mad cow

If the steak was for me, and I used salted seasoning/rubs/steak salt/etc, then I might RISK it.
Think of ye olde tymes in the middle ages-the butcher would basically wrap the meat in burlap to keep away most of the flies until the carcass was sold. Anthing that didn't sell in a week or so of being in the open was seasoned and made into sausage. But then again-people died before 35 years....

If for my family, then no way.

It's bad! you have to throw it away!

Eat up! Restaurants sometimes leave steak out for a couple of days to enhance the flavor. Amateurs are advised to avoid this practice. They hang the steak from a hook to keep it out of the way in the kitchen, and a steak that has been properly prepared in this manner is referred to as a well-hung piece of meat. These days that expression is usually a slang reference to something else.

It will still be alright unless it has been in a very warm area. I would suggest you cook it and then freeze, or leave covered in the fridge for tomorrow.

Yes it is bad, I wouldn't trust it. Steaks are cheap, but life isn't!

Yes. It is definitely bad. Throw it out.
