Answers:
You will need to keep the lid down as much as possible to bake the cornbread on your grill. Here are my recommendations, understand that this might not come out perfect on your first try. I am assuming that you have grilled chicken on your grill before, so you know about how long it takes to grill the chicken and what temp to set the burners.

1. If you have a dual burner grill, have one side hot for corn bread, the other at the temp that you grill the chicken.

2. I always preheat my castiron skillet when making cornbread. Cast iron takes a while to heat. If it is not preheated, the cornbread could bake unevenly. It comes out crispy on the bottom, which I like. So, put your skillet on the grill while you preheat.

3. I would guess that one box of mix should take maybe 10 minutes to bake depending on how hot your grill is...
450 deg, 10 min
350 deg, 20 min

4. Since I am assuming that you know how long your chicken will take, add the batter to the hot skillet at the appropriate time and drop the lid on the grill.

5. Use the skewer test to make sure the center is baked.

Good luck!

Heat the cast iron skillet first, with some sort of grease or oil in it, then pour the freshly mixed batter into the hot pan. Place it directly into the hot area where it will be baking. If the bread will be covered while baking it takes it about 25 minutes in a 425 degree F oven, so gauge it that way.

Cornbread takes about 25 mins to cook in an oven that stays closed. You will have to play this by ear. But I would heat the pan on the grill with a small amount of oil then carefully pour in the batter. Lifting the lid of the grill will slow down the baking process, so I would put it on when I do not have to lift the lid for at least 20 minutes. Hope this helps
