Question:

Why is there no canned water?

Seriously, there is bottled water...but no canned water! Just a question I've had lately.

Answers:
after hurricane ivan, we had a lot of strange items delivered to this area for food, but it was mostly MREs. i thought the strangest item of all was canned water. i still have a can of it. it wasnt that the water was canned that made it so odd, it was the fact that it was Budweiser brand canned water

i think if there was canned water it would take on sort of a metal or tin taste, which would be disgusting.

there is canned water, from dasani, but it tastes like the can, which makes me prefer the bottles.

Their is canned seltzer water, but yeah water without carbonation in a can, I have not seen it. Maybe marketing people decided that people wouldn't by it?

Yes, there actually is. If you fly airlines like I do, they do have canned water aboard on Delta & Continental Airlines from time to time. Both regular water and carbonated.

I've never seen it on store shelves either.

rust.

Maybe they can package Instant Water that way.
Instructions might read: Add Water to make water

And the military has had canned water for years.

Plastic is cheaper..

there really would be no point in canning water. water doesn't spoil, which would be the only reason to can it. the army uses canned water, probably so it can't get squished and burst open, as would happen if the army used plastic bottled water. besides, using plastic is much easier and cheaper than canning.
