What are the coolest drinks this summer?!

Question:

What are the coolest drinks this summer?

Summer is here and I am on the look-out for some COOL drinks that I can prepare for my family and friends this summer. Kindly share some of your 'recipes' for some cool drinks. I would appreciate it if you can make use of some fresh fruits or fruit juices to begin with.

Answers:
juices from trader joe's (tj's) / other supermarkets that are very good when mixed with other juices:

1. tj's mango nectar (100% juice) mixed with tropicana orange / tangerine juice or tropicana strawberry-orange-banana juice poured over ice. makes an ice-cold juice blend.

2. tj's blueberry estate juice (cold) + tj's blackberry crush (cold). makes an ice-cold juice blend.

3. (1) blended with chunks of banana, frozen mango, frozen peaches, frozen strawberries, etc. and ice cubes until everything is pureed and you have an ice-cold smoothie

4. tj's "sir strawberry" + tj's blackberry crush, blended with frozen mixed berries, slightly thawed (or you can use 1 variety or a combination of frozen berries: raspberry, blackberry, strawberry or blueberry) + ice cubes. makes a healthy, ice-cold slushie

5. tropicana OJ, blended with a medium banana, frozen strawberries, frozen peaches, and a scoop of vanilla frozen yoghurt

the ingredients in all of the ideas above can be altered in amount to suit your taste and serving needs.

here are some real recipe ideas:

1. ice cubes + 2 c. grapefruit juice + 2 c. fresh OJ + 2 limes (1 juiced and 1 sliced) + 2 c. club soda. combine juices with ice, float 1 lime slice on each serving. 4 - 6 servings.

2. 2 c. OJ + 2 c. pineapple juice + 1 bottle ginger ale + ice cubes. combine juices in a pitcher, add soda. pour over ice cubes. 3 servings.

3. 1 papaya (peeled, seeded, cut in chunks) + 2 c. water + fresh lime juice (1 lime) + 1/4 c. sugar + ice cubes. blend fruit, fruit juice, sugar and water until very smooth. pour into a pitcher filled with ice cubes. 2 - 3 servings.

4. 1 sugar cube + 1/2 tsp. angostura bitters + 5 oz. chilled champagne + lemon or orange twist. place sugar cube in a chilled champagne glass. add bitters to moisten cube. pour in champagne. garnish with twist. do not stir. 1 serving.

5. 2 c. OJ + 1/2 c. freshly squeezed lemon juice + 1/4 c. sugar + 1 bottle (750 ml) dry red wine + 1/4 c. cointreau or grand marnier + 1 bottle (10 oz) club soda + 1 orange, sliced thin + 2 c. ice cubes. stir the juices with sugar until sugar dissolves. add remaining ingredients. serve immediately. if making ahead, add ice and soda just before serving. 3 servings.

NOTE: all the juices used are 100% natural, with no sugar added. TJ's is especially good at stocking 100% natural juices.

i'm not going to tell my recipe, but kool-aid is #1, lemonade is #2, and water is #3.
