How should I categorize my favorite recipes?!

Question:

How should I categorize my favorite recipes?

I collect cookbooks and love to cook, therefore I have hundreds of great recipes. One problem, I can never seem to remember where they are (books, sheets of paper, etc...) I am looking to categorize them, but I am unsure of the best way to do this. I can type them, print them and make a book of favorites. Or I can make of list on the computer and reference the location.

Does anyone else have a good idea? Do you do something that works well for you? I would love some help with this project.

Answers:
I bought software, called MasterCook. It allows you to import all your recipes into an online cookbook. You can also print out your own recipes in several different formats. It is very easy to use. I think my copy came from Amazon.com and cost about $15. This software allows you to categorize, create shopping lists, add comments, etc.

You should put Bran Muffins at the top of anything.

There are free recipe organizing software that you can download
