Only Craving Fruits and Vegetables--Nothing Else. Healthy?!

Question:

Only Craving Fruits and Vegetables--Nothing Else. Healthy?

I dont' know if its the summer and the temperature is changing, but I can't seem to eat anything else but tons of fruits and vegetables. Its the only thing I'm craving the last two weeks. I know this is good food but I don't know if only eating this is healthy. I tried to eat some meat and felt nauseous afterwards and I haven't eaten meat in over two weeks (and I used to love meat). I tried to eat some turkey because its good for you but I couldn't finish it. I can't really finish a bowl of rice or eat grain bread. Why is my body going through this? Should I try to eat something a little more substantial?

I haven't been trying to diet or anything...but most foods just don't appeal to me anymore.

I'm also a little concerned because my caloric intake must be very low (only eating fruits and veggies)...and I know that's not a good thing. But I'm still maintaining my body weight.

This is a normal phase. Whenever your body craves something, it needs more of what that particular food offers. For example, when we crave chocolate, we are actually craving magnesium. Maybe your body just needs a lot of potassium right now... Your body will come back to wanting a variety soon enough, but try a protein smoothie & some nuts to incorporate protein if you're feeling lightheaded. You could also eat a few cubes of chicken or tofu in a salad w/fruit or toss them into a small tortilla w/mango salsa. Bottom line, you're perfectly fine where you're at... no worries...

Hope it helps...

Try to incorporate some protein in your diet, by peanut butter or beans, or legumes. I am simmilar to you though, I absoultely love fruits and veggies, and would live off them if it were entirely possible! Lol.

EDIT: Since you are worried about calories, try eating fruits such as bananas and avacados. They have a higher calorie content, conmpared to many other fruits. Hope I helped!

There is nothing wrong with that, but try adding some kind of nut in with that for some healthy fat and protein.

No worries, just include a bran muffin in the morning to promote regularity.

maybe your body is craving to be cleansed. Even so you have to add some protien, Shakes, nuts, peanutbutter ect... you can take vitamins also, But One a day vitamins make me feel sick so be careful
