Cole slaw, pinto beans, hush puppies are what we usually use here in the south. I also like a nice peach cobbler for dessert since it complement the taste of the corn meal, assuming that's what you're using for frying.

I also like to slice a fresh, sweet onion for people to nibble on with the fish and Vidalias and Texas 1015s are in season right now.

Cole slaw, also sweet potatoes and hush puppies.

PLANTATION HUSH PUPPIES

1 1/2 cup cornmeal either color
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 tablespoon baking soda
1 1/2 tablespoon dehydrated onion flakes
1/4 cup cultured buttermilk
1 tablespoon salt
1 teas cayenne pepper
1 pinch of finely chopped dill
water

Mix as many portions as desired and store in a cool dry place, will store for six months.
Use to coat fish, clams, oysters, Place adequate amount into a Ziploc bag and shake fish filets in bag until coated.

Dredge fish, clams, oysters, in an egg wash, then roll in hush puppy mix for a thicker coating.

Add water to mixture until a bit thinner than desired, let stand for 20 minutes to allow onion flakes to reconstitute. Mixture wills thicken.

Spoon into a 375 degree hot oil pot, until they float and are a golden brown. For a more crunchy effect cook until dark brown.

COLE SLAW

1 medium-sized head green cabbage
2 carrots, thinly shredded
1 onion
1 green pepper
1 c. sugar
1 c. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1 tablespoon grated horseradish
1 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. turmeric

Shred the cabbage and carrots, then chop them up a bit. Chop the green pepper and onion and combine it with the cabbage. Boil together the vinegar, sugar, salt, and spices, only until they are well blended. Pour over the slaw and allow it to set for several hours before serving. Store in refrigerator. This is good served with baked beans or as a hot dog relish

MIXED BAKED BEANS

1 1/2 cups dried pinto beans
1 1/2 cups dried kidney beans
1 1/2 cups dry great Northern beans
14 cups water
1/2 pound salt pork, cut into 1/8" strips
1 large onion, chopped
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
3 cups water
3 teaspoons dry mustard
3 tablespoons molasses
11/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 pound bacon, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced

Pick over and wash dried beans. Rinse well, drain. Combine beans and water in a large Dutch oven or cast-iron pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat, cover and allow to stand one hour. Drain and return beans to Dutch oven.
Stir in remaining ingredients, leaving salt pork near top. Cover and bake at 300° for three hours. Uncover, and bake an additional 30 minutes or until beans are tender.

Rice.

Any kind of fresh vegetable.

Onion rings, fruit salsa, lemonade. Watermelonies - puree & strain some watermelon, mix with lemonade and vodka. Chunky vegetable salad.

well there's salad, coleslaw, mac n cheese, rice, tartar sauce, clam chowder, steak fries (yummy), tator taughts, some kind of pasta!

I would make some big *** steak fries and serve salad with it!! that sounds awesome!

pan fried potatoes take some boiled potatoes and fry them in butter and dill and\or garlic eat with or without sour cream

KRAFT mac & cheese and french fries - nothing else will do!

Try this: Cook your favorite frozen vegetable mix; drain off the water and throw in a sweet and sour sauce from a jar. Leave the lid on to heat it up again and slice hot garlic bread. Vegetables on bread; fish separate, eaten with a fork. YuMMMM!
