Question:

When you grill your salmon, what do you season it with?

Answers:
lemon pepper seasoning or a Cajun seasoning. they are delicious. Mr. Dash makes some pretty good all ready prepared shake on spices.

I little bit of lemon juice, salt and pepper & parsley.

A few drops of good soy sauce and nothing else -- shame to hide that great flavor.

lemon pepper and some salt.. its simple but good

Ingredients
4 tbsp. Olive oil
1/4 c. Onion, grated
2 tsp. Freshly grated ginger
2 tsp. Minced garlic
4 tbsp. Soy sauce
1/8 tsp. Freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. Paprika
4 Sm. salmon steaks

Preparation
Combine marinade ingredients in a 9x13 pan or zipper seal bag. Add salmon, turn to cover with marinade. Let marinade for at least 15 minutes. Longer is better. Cover grill rack with aluminum foil brushed with oil. Place salmon steaks on grill and brush with marinade. Cook for about 10 minutes. Turn with a spatula, brush with more marinade, and continue grilling 10 minutes more. (The fish should flake easily.)

If you want the best and simplest salmon coating ever just buy a pack of instant potatoes (we use Idaho Garlic Herb instant potatoes). To the instant potatoes, add 1 teaspoon of lemon pepper (you can also add 1 teaspoon of paprika is desired). Mix the dry ingredients together. Then in a separate bowl whip up an egg. Then dip your salmon in the egg and into the dry mixture. Lightly fry the salmon on medium heat (very important you heat the oil up first before placing the fish in the pan!!!). It should only take about 4-5 minutes to fry the fish if it is a small fillet. Larger fillets add a few more minutes.

I like to grill it on top of a cedar shake or shingle with just a little pinch of salt. The cedar adds an interesting flavor.

Fresh squeezed lemon juice mixed with some mayo. Add plenty of pepper and some dill if you have it. Brush it on and wrap the entire fillet in tin foil. Make it loose enough that you can tent the top.

I really like my seafood with their own natural taste, so I rarely season my salmon. If I do, I'd brush it with a bit of honey to add some sweetness to the salmon.

I like a hearty steak rub. I usually use Montreal steak seasoning or the McCormick Salt Free Steak Rub.
