Why does all the good food bad for you?!

Question:

Why does all the good food bad for you?

Answers:
The reason is because of the number of calories and the amount of energy we get from them. Humans evolved so that our taste buds will like foods that give us the most energy. This is a survival technique. Back in the days of cave men, people went all day without food and wasted a lot of energy running and trying to hunt for meat. Those who had the most energy were able to survive and so we have evolved so that our system encourages us to eat food with lots of calories. Because of todays modern technology and because we no longer hunt for our on food on foot with a spear, we don't use as much energy and thus become overweight and begin to have health issues.

Well, lettuce, carrots, onions, tomatoes, green pepper, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower etc are all good for you and taste 'wonderful' and I think they are all GOOD FOR YOU. Now let me see, oatmeal with raisins is wonderful (I use no milk), and cream of rice with dates is also wonderful (no milk again). So... I fail to see that 'good food' is bad for me.

cuz good food must taste good and that would be junk food, soda and stuff. And all those things are bad for u

wineduchess, AVJ?, and Nicholas are all correct in my opinion. =) Also over abudance of oil, sugar or salt foods(french fries, doritos, candy, popcorn ect.) tend to numb our sense of refined taste - rendering most nutrious unprocessed foods seemingly tasteless or bland to many people due to over consumption of these foods.

The companies do this overly on purpose anymore really..random fact..the name Eggo was a psych advertising trick. During the time eggo's came out foods that used eggs were considered superior.. even though waffles didn't and still don't need eggs in them.

But..

..we need to know what the good food is in your opinion first :) But reread what I just said as I said it for a reason. "Good food is in your opinion." This may seem obvious, but you need to evaluate what has effected your opinions.

If you went out of your way to self-educate and further develop your views

or

If they are just a result of your enviroment that you've grown up in or around.

The first one means you've been influenced openly by anyone and anything you've seen for possibly the better but likely the worse.

The second one means you've questioned, evaluated, challenged, and/or resisted the things that influence you and have seeked to know more then what is shown readily.

Growing up I was horribly picky about foods. All foods really.. I remember not liking certain vegetables and the slow progression to accepting all foods as delicious if prepared right. Now I doubt there's much I can say I don't like (besides licorice!) I also only consider plant and plant byproducts as food, so keep this in mind.

As humans we are like most animals, easily tempted, our cravings are super stimulated by items that we're introduced to when we're younger, since the beginning of 1900 artificial foods have been created, and introduced in baby food products and also targeting young children. Like potato chips... good and addictive i learned the hard way!

Although I'm not religious, that's just one of those things I call God's little joke.
But seriously, there are a lot of good healthy things out there to be had if you look. Pizza it ain't, but once you start making healthier choices you start to realize french fries and mocha lattes aren't really all that great.
Lasagne is another story. That would be one of God's little curses.

Humans had to adapt to a world of scavenging as they first came into existence. Our brains are wired to eat as much as we can when we can because the next famine could be a day away. Foods high in fat were especially good to help store well fat to be used as energy later. Today humans just aren't suited to the world of abundance. We have a hard time saying no to the things that we're wired to crave, but aren't particularly good for us.

I am a vegan, but there are a lot of vegan foods that are very bad for you like cookies, french fries, and high-calorie sauces.

I think America's main addiction is to sugar. So high-sugared foods are probably the ones you are finding unhealthy in your diet.

sorry ! you didn't mention any one name at least of good food to which you must be considering as a good food. It may not be good also to which you are thinking is good food.
Any Good food is always good for the health but it also should be in limit.
