What would happen if i put peanut butter in the microwave?!

Question:

What would happen if i put peanut butter in the microwave?

Answers:
It's a bit like putting normal butter (a stick or glob of spreadable butter) in there... It melts. If you do it at a low setting, you get a nice, soft (and easily blendable) mixture. Mix some chocolate chips in it (melt the two together and mix them) and pour over a layer of crackers (saltines or graham crackers work equally well) and let it cool... Makes a quick/fun dessert snack.

If you heat it too fast (or too high a setting) it will make a mess though... If you 'boil' the mixture, it can crystalize once it cools and turns hard (depends on the brand/type you start with). Don't use plastic bowls (or metal obviously) because it will melt the plastic. Glass works best in my experience (like a 4-cup glass measuring cup is perfect).

It would get hot and runny. That's all.

catastrophe

I know. Try it and let us know. Don't blame me if you have to clean a mess.

there's only one way to find out

It would be melty and HOT!
If you put a bowlfull in for like 15 seconds, nothing bad should happen :)

It melts. I do this when I want to pour some on ice cream.

I think it would just all runny.

BUT...if you're the adventurous sort, try this. Leave it in there long enough to develope burn marks on the surface of the mess it'll undoubtedly make. Carefully remove the mess and measure the distance between the burn marks and convert the average distance into meters. Okay? Next find the frequency of your microwave and multiply THAT by the distance you found before.

Why? If you did this carefully, the answer you get should be equal to the speed of light (3 x10^8 m/s).

Oh wait! This isn't the science area...

Oh well, it's still true! Have fun!

You would make peanut butter juice.

I don't really know but I have to ask Steven-is that for real or are you full of crap? =)

umm... here's a guess: it'll melt!
bored, huh?
