Is there such a thing as sweet egg rolls?!

Question:

Is there such a thing as sweet egg rolls?

Is there such a thing as sweet egg rolls? I just have a taste for something sweet and I want to make something with a twist off of my regular chicken egg roll recipe. Do you know if apples or anything like that would taste good inside of an eggroll wrap? I use the Azumaya brand wraps.

Answers:
in fact, i do. You can purchase a ready-made apple filling OR make the filling yourself just like for apple pie (apples, sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, touch of butter, raisins(optional), and rum (optional)) but cook it drier so the liquid doesn't seep out during frying. Then, proceed as usual, wrap up the filling in egg roll skins and deep fat fry them. Best if served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Good luck trying!!!

Some eggrolls have ground Ginger in them and it gives a slightly sweet taste.
Good luck

1/2 cup dashi soup stock

PREPARATION:
Put hanpen fish cake in blender and chop well. Add , sugar, salt, soysauce, and eggs and stir well. Pour the egg mixture into a flat baking pan which is slightly oiled. Put the pan in 250 degree oven for 15 min. Take the omelet out from the pan when it's still hot. Put the omelet on top of a bamboo mat and roll it. Leave it until cools. Remove the bamboo mat and cut the omelet into half inch slices.

Believe it or not I saw a cooking show on TV that wrapped candy bars in egg roll wrappers and fried them, then dusted with powdered sugar. Looked very good but not very healthy for you but now and then everyone needs a special treat! I think apples ( maybe precooked) with brown sugar and raisins would be really good , be careful you don't overfill though.

We always did apple pie filling in egg roll wrappers when I was a kid. We usually had a few leftover after making lumpias. Very yummy.

Be sure and let them cool first. Hot sugar can cause some serious burns.
