Party foods?!

Question:

Party foods?

What are some good party type foods I can serve for an office meeting. I don't want the typical lunch meat sandwiches or fruit and veggie trays. Warm or cold, it doesn't matter. I like to make things so I'm open to all ideas. Thanks!!!

Party Pinwheels:

Tortillas spread with a layer of cream cheese .(I like the whipped cream cheese), with some hidden valley ranch dressing mix mixed in, the powdered kind. Sprinkle on some finely chopped chives, and some chopped red peppers, you can add some finely chopped ham or turkey too..........this recipe is very versile.

Wrap the torillas up tightly in saran wrap or foil and chill for 2 hours or overnight. Slice into 1 inch pieces and serve, they are so nice looking and delicious. I think I first found this recipe at allrecipes.com, but from then on I just kind of put in there what I'd like. Black olives chopped up are good in there too.

maybe Chex Mix

Pasta salad, potato salad, lasagna, enchiladas, you could set up a fajita bar so people could just fix it themselves.

Kibe
Arab dish called "kibe" that you might want to try.

2 pounds ground beef
0.5 pound tabule wheat
1 onion, finely diced
salt and pepper to taste
mint (preferably fresh, minced, about 4 tbsp.)
lemon juice (1 tbsp.)

Soak the tabule wheat in cold water to cover by at least 2 inches. Leave it overnight or 4 hours minimum. Drain extremely well.

Mix the meat, wheat, all the other ingredients. Assemble in a baking pan, like you would do for a cake - it should be about 2 inches high.

Cover with aluminum foil, bake at 350F for 30 minutes, remove the foil, make shallow cuts with a knife forming a diamond pattern. Drizzle some olive oil on top (lightly), put back in the oven, uncovered, bake for 40 minutes more, or until nicely browned on top.

Cut into squares to serve - it is delicious hot or cold, with a touch of more lemon juice on top, if you want.
