When cooking & baking, which cooking oils are best for your health?!

Question:

When cooking & baking, which cooking oils are best for your health?

Its been said saturated & trans fat are artery cloggers. So, whats the best oil? There's a lot out there, coconut, sunflower, flax, peanut, canola, vegetable, etc. What do you think of olive oil as being the best for the heart. And is butter, oleo and lard any good?

Answers:
DO NOT ever use vegetable oil.
Your best choice is always olive oil because it tastes good and it's beneficial for your health. Extra-virgin olive oil is great on salads or pasta, but it's also great for cooking. The extra-virgin is usually a little more expensive, but that's because it's the first gentle pressing of the olive and it is less tampered with than other kinds.

So now is the time to go to the pantry and throw out all those saturated fats and even those polyunsaturated ones like corn oil, safflower oil, and soybean oil. Purchase a good quality olive oil. Your arteries and your heart will be glad you did!

Flax oil is expensive, but probably the healthiest.
Olive oil is also good.
Gets tricky with baking, as solid oils are best, but not always the healthiest choice.

It totally depends on if you are baking or cooking. For baking, I use butter, shortening, and/or lard. Sometimes I use canola oil when a recipe calls for oil.

For cooking, I use either canola or olive oil.

I never use margarine - it is only one ingredient away from being plastic. I would rather have clogged arteries from butter in my system. Moderation is key.

coconut oil is absolutley the most unheallthy olive oil is the healthies bu obviously not for cooking..you dont want olive chocolate cake
the best is corn/salad oil very tasteless

Canola, and Olive are good for your chloesterol and blood pressure.
