What do you think would improve this tuna salad?!

Question:

What do you think would improve this tuna salad?

I'm making a tuna salad with:

basil
apple chunks
celery
mayonnaise
plain yogurt
a pinch of salt
black pepper

Do you think there's anything else I could add that would hit it out of the ball park?

Answers:
I have a similar mix but I add minced Walnuts. They add to the texture and the flavor plays with the apple chunks nicely.

Add some pecans or walnuts

sounds pretty good
can i have some?
maybe adding some cheese or cucumbers?
its the only others things that would go well with ur preperation i think :)

Believe it or not, grapes.

Or maybe toasted pine nuts to complement the basil. What type of apple? A little cayenne is always good, too.

it needs some type of acid, try adding lemon jiuce

a squeeze of lemon juice

hotdogs

why dont u try putting in a little bit of seseme oil(tablespoon) or seseme seeds(tablespoon depending on how much ur going to make)

i'd skip the basil and instead add some chopped green onion (scallion) and a squeeze of lemon juice.

diced onions or chives,
fresh bell pepper diced,
black olives drained & sliced.
pecans or walnuts for crunch.
boiled eggs diced,
cilantro
sweet pickle relish

I would add chopped pecans. Maybe a little celery seed for flavor and color. And yes. A dash of fresh squeezed lemon juice as soon as you plop the tuna fish into the bowl. Then mix the lemon with the tuna first before adding your other ingredients. Too much lemon with too much mayo or yogurt will make your salad runny.

Maybe by putting some Tuna in there?

:P

and I don't know if it for a sandwich, or if it's a real salad...

if for a sandwich, .sub the basil for dill weed. add lemon zest.

if a salad, romaine lettuce, feta cheese, balsamic vinegar (hold the mayo and yogurt), toss and chow!

Other then that, what I see looks pretty good, I might try it!

Lettuce

Try adding a pit of curry powder and grapes....yum!

everything looks good but i think a bit of honey or just plain sugar(if u prefer lighter flavor) will complete the taste dimension. sweet, salty, and tangy... sure will tickle everyone's taste buds.

Olives, nuts,a tiny bit of jalapeno, just a tiny bit.

CURRY POWDER.....definitely. I also think a toasted (make sure you toast for best flavour and crunch!) nut like pecans or almonds would really make it the best!

In my opinion nothing tastes better in a tuna salad than relish. It gives alittle bite and alittle sweetness.

Put the mayo in a jar that has a lid. Put in a little orange juice and shake it until it is pourable, skip the yogurt. . I use this one on Waldorf salad, I get lots of compliments.
Try adding walnuts, or green grapes, or orange slices.

i prepare the tuna with the mayo (4 6oz cans) and then i add a 10 oz can of Veg-All veggies, then i spread it on some tostadas. Yummy.

also..a friend of mine made tuna salad by using hard boiled eggs, celery, onion and mayo. it was the BOMB!!! try those recipes. simple, easy and delicious.

boiled eggs chopped cashews with lime juice would be good.

Fresh dill and lots of it!
