What is healthier to drink? Room temperature water or cold water.?!

Question:

What is healthier to drink? Room temperature water or cold water.?

Answers:
It's still water either way...why would temperature make a difference? Most people prefer cold water because it's more refreshing.
Add some fresh berries and Voila! you have (somewhat) flavored water that's healthy because it has berries.

I'm curious about this, also. I've heard cold water is b/c your metabolism raises as your body tries to warm the water. I'm going to keep an eye on this question!

yes both are good for you water is water...

don't know healthier but room water does not shock your system like ice cold water will.

I heard a guy discussing this on the radio the other day. The only difference other than preference is that room temperature water is absorbed more quickly, but both will absorb the same amount, it is the speed of absorption that is the difference.

Room temperature water; cold water gives the body a shock (think of jumping into an ice-filled stream). In fact, people in Germany never add ice to their drinks, saying it is bad for the stomach.
Of course, cold feels better on a hot day.

cold water does speed your metabolism up.
drinking warm water when your are cold warms you up just as much as coffee or hot tea...and is better for you.
cold water when you are hot works the same way as well.

I think water is water.. wether you serve it room temp, or cold...

Common sense says that room temp water would be healthier since it isn't "shocking" your system. However, science says that cold water helps you lose weight.

In any case...who wants to live forever? Give me cold water with a squeeze of citrus!

If you feel too warm, it's better to drink ice cold water.
It cools your body down from the inside out.

Really I think its just water. Only thing is don't drink super cold water on a really hot day, or if you are dehydrated or suffering heat stroke. I think that will make you sick or nauseous. Ordinarily i don't think it matters for day to day drinking.

I believe room temp water is better for you.

Room temp water is proven to be better for you all around... cold water causes your body to go into a type of shock, and also slows your heart and metabolism. Where as, room temp water flows through your system easily and helps speed your metabolism and your digestion.
You should drink a big glass of room temp water first thing in the morning and at least the 8 recommended glasses through out the day,
I hope this helps!

Both are perfectly fine.

i think room tempature water cause cold water is just.................i don't know

lukewarm.

if you are dying of thirst, room temp it best.
if you just want something refreshing, a nice cool glass is best.
your body has to take time to make the cold water become body temperature anyways, so if you are dehydrated drink that so your body will absorb it faster!

If you've gotten warm, cold water will certainly help your body cool down a bit faster. Ultimately, however, the water will come to the temperature of your body, since your body continually produces heat, and the water will simply be used.

As long as you drink ENOUGH, the temperature doesn't matter much; since cold water certainly tastes better, I would think it would be better since it encourages people to drink enough.

I think its better to drink water thats between room temperature and cold water. I have a very high metabolism so i usually feel any effects right away. Usually when i drink cold water after eating my meal i feel that my food isnt really helping right away and i kinda feel a knot in my stomach. When i drink room temperature water i feel way comfortable and i usually feel the surge of energy soon whereas with cold water it takes a little bit more time. It feels like it slows down my stomach and doesnt feel that great. Although cold water feels more refreshing since its cold and wakes you up a little. When you are supposed to make pasta youre supposed to put it in hot water and not in cold water and heat it up. I have wondered abt my theory being right or not but i think i might be since i do have a very high metabolism and i can say the effects because i process food faster so i feel the effects faster too.

the only difference is the amount of calories burned while drinking. iced water burns more b/c your body heats(or cools) everything you drink/eat to about body temp before it reaches your stomach.

Neither. Just a matter of preference. Just getting 8 glasses a day in intensely healthy.

room temp water is better to drink. before the body can absorb anything consumed. it must be heated to body temp. therefore, cold water uses energy (or calories) to heat the water in your stomach. till it reaches usable temperature. warm water can be absorbed sooner due to its higher temp. (hard to name sources. its a few calories to heat 1ml of water 1 deg inside your stomach)

I have heard that the body must work to warm the water up, so you burn up calories but to be honest I truly don't think it makes a difference. I doubt that there would be very may calories burned. Cold taste better. Water is the healthiest drink.

they are both healthy unless you add vodka
