Good meatless meatballs?!

Question:

Good meatless meatballs?

OK! I know meatless meatballs sound gross but does anybody know of a good brand? One that doesnt make or is owend by a company that makes real meat.

Answers:
"Nate's" brand meatless meatballs come in 4 flavors, Classic, Spicy, Mushroom and Chicken.

They are very tasty and I get them from Henry's Marketplace (Wild Oats Store). I think I've seen them at Whole Foods too.

They are made by Elena's Food Specialties, Inc in San Fran.

Boca Burger is a good brand

Why should the company make real meat? What does that matter?

Just go to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods and you'll find meatless meatballs.

Naybe they should be called balls or vefi balls or tofuballs.
Make them yourself heres a recipe
12 oz. roll frozen ground beef substitute, thawed
1 egg
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup milk
2 Tbsp. mustard
1 Tbsp. ketchup
1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
PREPARATION:
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix gently with your hands. (You may need to add more milk or bread crumbs to form a shapeable mixture, depending on the variety of beef substitute you use.) Form into 1" meatballs.

Chill for 1-2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake meatballs for 20-30 minutes until firm and hot. You can then freeze these meatballs and use in other recipes that call for frozen precooked meatballs. Makes about 3o

In a little olive oil in a large skillet lightly brown the meatless meatballs, Then add them to the sauce. Allow them to steep in sauce for several hours or overnight.

Serve balls warm in a chafing dish as appetizers. The sauce is also good on pasta, with or without the "meatless balls."

make your own take 16 oz can pumpkin mix in oatmeal, wheatgerm and light soya sauce.. if desired add bit seasoning salt and diced onions. mix and form balls for spagetti, flatten balls for burgers.. fry in vegetable oil or olive oil! to fool meat eaters add a drop or 2 of vanilla in fry pan to kill the veggie smell!

"Meatless" meatballs is an oxymoron. They exist only in the veggie-head's heads.
