Why does Gatorade need refrigerating after opening?!

Question:

Why does Gatorade need refrigerating after opening?

Answers:
Gatorade has a substance know as sodium citrate in it. When it is in the bottle, it is under pressure and does not react with other things in the air. Once it is opened, it can react, but with refrigeration, it can't react because of the temperature is too cold. After the first opening, it reacts with oxygen to give a little bid of a bad aftertaste. Some flavors have more, so some have different aftertastes. Hope this helps.

Because of the preservatives put in it....

like anything, once its open its been exposed to bacteria, and bacteria has a hard time reproducing in cold climates, such as a frig.
