Hi,

Following a recipe or not?

I have improvised many. Never rush! Try making it the way your instructed to at first then after that add a little bit at a time of what you think is better or what your personal tastes are. If you dont know what a paticular spice or seasoning is, taste it! Get familiar with what your working with experiment. Never know you could be a chef someday.

What is this for anything or something in general? Feel free to E mail me.

I wanna open a restraunt someday if I found someone willing to front the cash.

This is a question that has multiple answers. Baking is a science, so you need to follow your directions and measurements exactly. In regular cooking, you can leave out mushrooms if you don't like them, but in baking you need to use the specified ingredients. You want to use the best ingredients you can get. You also need to make sure your oven temperature is correct, or this could affect your results. Le Cordon Bleu has an excellent book based on just techniques. It's not cheap, but their cooking school is based all on techniques, the French way. My son will be attending their school in Orlando to become a pastry chef. I highly recommend this book.

#1: Follow the directions carefully

#2: Use the proper utinsels and pans

#3: Use the proper ingredients; do not substitute unless you are absolutely certain it will not affect the recipe

#4: Make sure the racks in the oven are in the middle or as close as possible, depending on the oven.

#5: Use the proper measuring methods

#6: Limit the number of times you open the oven door while baking

These are just a few of many things you will learn as you continue to bake.

pre heat the oven. use non stick sprays. they do wonders.
