Food storage and best/use by dates?!

Question:

Food storage and best/use by dates?

I don't use food thats past its best before/use by date as according to the Food Standard Agency, only keeps to that date when stored as stated on the packaging. But my step dad says food thats been frozen will keep afterwards. So i'm not sure.

Answers:
food that has been frozen will keep longer. It is just a fact. Like ground beef can be used 6 months after experation date, if frozen

Betty Crocker has a book called Cooking Basics. In the back is an index that will tell you hgow long all varieties of foods will keep in cupboards, fridges, and freezers. Its a great book!!

I wouldn't keep the food after the date, just to be safe. I don't think it would hurt to eat it a day or two after if you froze it, but i probablly wouldn't.

if you freeze it it will last for months. the quality will reduce eventually but it's safe to eat.
