Is it safe to eat red meat while its still pink on the inside?!

Question:

Is it safe to eat red meat while its still pink on the inside?

Answers:
Yes, except hamburger. It's said that most meat has e-coli, but since only hamburger is ground, the e-coli gets all over it and it needs to be cooked thoroughly to kill the germ. Steaks only get it on the outside, so searing it will resolve the problem.

Sure. I love eating mine VERY rare....

Yes for steaks and roasts, but not if it's ground meat.

no

If it is a steak it is fine but ground beef needs to be cooked well, no pink

Salmonella and Listeria are often found in red meat but are killed when cooked at proper temperatures. Red meat can be eaten rare if prepared right. White meat (chicken and poultry) should NEVER be eaten rare.

I haven't died from it yet.

Although safe, even restaurants have that disclaimer on the menu about serving steaks or meats rare....so it must be something to it.......but I guess pink is not exactly red....
