Help with a recipe?!

Question:

Help with a recipe?

I remember making this roll thing using:
tortillas
sliced ham
cream cheese
and I know there were other ingrediants but i can't remember what they were.
Anyone heard of this? Anyone know the other ingrediants?

Answers:
I used to make them at a deli I worked at. We called them Pinwheels.

Flour tortillas
Garlic and herb flavored cream cheese
Sliced cold cuts, any will do but ham and turkey work well
Sliced cheeses if you want them
Slices of tomato and lettuce
And whole basil leaves

Spread your tortilla with the garlic/herb cream cheese and layer your ingredients on top and ending with a basil leaf. Roll up into a cigar shape and wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate. Cut on the diagonal or into smaller bite sized pieces when you are ready to serve.

lots of garlic and spices.

I had one simular like this:
Mayo
Avocado
lettuce
sprouts
shredded cheese
fresh pico de gallo
turkey or ham

Hope this helped :)

use rolls too i've made that mistake

Not quite that one, but I use tortillas, cream cheese, and jalapeno peppers - - Yum!

try some spices or some ranch seasoning, mix all together, spread on tortillla and roll. The great thing about recipies like this is you can do whatever you want with it .

Might be an antojito (sp?)....I love these...cream cheese and anything...spread inside a tortilla, roll it up, then throw it in the oven or toaster oven for a minute or so then slice into circles to dip into salsa, sour cream and / or guacamole.

My favourite is prosciutto, sundried tomatoes and kalmata olives, but also I like mushrooms and tomotoes!

sounds like you are trying to make ham and cream cheese pinwheels.... theres several variations on how to make them to your own liking, If you put in the ingredients on google.com you will see theres a ton of ways to do it.

The ones I've had used other ingredients including roasted bell pepper and black olives. You can also add chives to the cream cheese for an extra flavor, as well as any kind of sliced cheese you want.

My mother in laws also puts diced black olives, garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce

I've had it once with:

tortillas
sliced ham
cream cheese
swiss,
jelly
lettuce
tomato

surprisingly the jelly went really well with the roll. It's worth a try.

tomato

Ham and cream cheese Pinwheels
6 flour tortillas
8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
1 (2 ounce) package vegetable soup mix (Dry Dip Mix)
1/2 lb ham (thin sliced)
With hand mixer combine the cream cheese and soup mix (let sit for half hour so the soup mix can soften).
Spread 2 tablespoons of cream cheese mixture onto a tortilla.
Place slices of ham on cream cheese mixture.
Roll tortilla, then slice into 1/2" pinwheels.
Chill till ready to serve.

you can either chop the ham into the cream cheese or lay the ham on top of the cream cheese mixture after you have spread it onto the tortilla. use a package of good seasons dressing mix (italian is a nice one to use) or hidden valley ranch dressing mix - use one part sour cream to two parts cream chesse - and you can also mix in shredded cheese (jalapeno cheddar is nice or try another specialty cheese like white cheddar with roasted garlic) - add thinly sliced green onions to the mixture. you can also try just straight boursin cheese and forgo all the mixing. spread evenly onto a tortilla and lay thin sliced ham on top - then roll and cut into pinwheels. i suggest you keep it rolled and wrapped in waxed paper until just before serving. this helps keep it's shape and you'll be able to leave it out longer without re- refridgerating it. (it won't get mushy as fast)

This recipe can be as varied as your imagination! You can use any number of ingredients. You can use any cold cut, any sliced or spreadable cheese, mayonnaise, mustard, olives, pimentos, and so on. Use the largest 'burrito' size, room temperature flour tortillas you can find. They allow for the most ingredients and they make larger rolls once sliced.

I have had those but w/ green onions, lettuce and tomato
Really good

spread the cream cheese onto the tortilla.place slice of ham onto cream cheese. place scallion at end closest to you and roll into a tight cylinder. slice into pinwheels. use toothpix to hold wheels together. now let's play. use any flavored wrap that are available in markets. plan your platter using any color combo. flavor the cream chz.(chili powder?), or use an herb flavored chz. from the store.use turkey/pesto chz/pimento/tomato wrap. pretty. limited by your imagination. good luck!

TORTILLA ROLL-UPS

8 flour tortillas, (burrito size)
16 slices ham slices, *(4 x 6)
16 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 ounces black olives, chopped
2 tablespoons green onion, chopped fine**

Mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, olives and onions together. Spread on tortilla. Lay ham on filling and roll up tight. Chill before cutting; cut into 1-inch pieces. Cover tightly.
Serving Size: 12

If you roll em up tight and cut into rounds as an appetizer, theyjust call em roll ups or pinwheels but rolled loosely and served whole as a main dish they call it lavosh which really isnt correct as lavash/lavosh is a tortilla like bread that comes from armenia where they make a sandwich called aram.which is actually what this rolled sandwich is.
so anyway I copied an address for you to look at,http://www.recipezaar.com/recipe/getreci...
but really your only limitation is imagination.one of my little ones calls it a salad sandwich. we start out with the tortilla and cream cheese then we choose from an assortment of raw and partialy steamed veggies, sliced meat and cheese.
one of my favorites is turkey and roasted red peppers.
for the appetizer one you just put less ingrediants so they can stick together.
the one you are talking about with ham and cheese, ive seen a simular one and it also had chopped green olives and leaf lettuce.
so have fun thats what food is about ! make up your own!
