How long can you survive eating only hot dogs?!

Question:

How long can you survive eating only hot dogs?

My father (suffering from cancer) will now only eat hot dogs. This has been going on for several weeks now. Just wondering how long one can last on only hot dogs with buns and cheese and ketchup. And drinking water of course.

Answers:
well he is getting nurishment ... not proper nutrition, but taking in food at least... if he is ill and this is all he can handle to eat there is no harm in just letting him have a lil bit of joy from a good ol hot dog....many cancer patients cant even eat because of the different treatments... be glad hes at least consuming something... but be encouraging to other foods also! good luck and my thoughts are with you and your family

in 6 months you would be dead from scurvy

well as long as your drinking water you can live.

well he better be running for like 3 hours

he needs calcium for his bones and other vitamans soo y dont you try to get thim to eas a vitamin or drink milk or orange jiuce

it depends on who the person is everyone's body is different. being that he has cancer i am not sure you would have to consult a doctor on that one. but i am sure that a doctor is going to advice against that. if that is what he wants to do with his last days you should just let him do it. cancer makes people suffer immensly. i am truly sorry for you it is a difficult thing to have to go through even for the family meembers. good luck and allah bless you guys.

actually pretty healthy, just have him take multivitamins, if hot dogs make him happy, maybe he might eat kielbasa, italian link sausage, spam, or maybe he will eat chili with beans on the hot dogs for more fiber. I would say years, especially if you can get him to take the vitamins.

You should speak to his oncologist or someone on his team.
My neighbor is in his late 70's and eats hot dogs morning, noon and night - so who knows. The sodium/nitrates can't be helping him. Good nutrition during any stage of cancer is essential but can be very stressful to manage.

Let him eat what he can handle. He will be fine. I think that should be the lest of your worries.

He should be okay for awhile, but that is extremely unhealthy and may exacerbate his condition. he will also get extremely constipated btw.
