These guys have it, or say they do.

have never seen it in the UK.i know what you mean,as i lived in the USA for 2 years. Semolina is very similar,.you can buy it in most big supermarkets,in the dessert section.

I buy it from American import shops online. Here's a few sites....

www.obcusa.co.uk

www.cybercandy.co.uk

Being a former chef in Canada, the only thing about semolina is it is very fine and will clump up in cooking, find a store that sells African Grocerys, and get either wheatlets or a coarser semolina, they make a side for some dishes from a wheat based meal.

Tesco or ASNA may have it but try the Ethnic food aisles, it maybe labelled different, here in Canada we can get in packets, boxes or at a store that you just help yourself to what you need.

Try to find places in the phone directory that sell foreign or ethnic foods, even Indian stores sell it they make dumplings for sweet dishes and in a vegetarian curry made with soya protein and wheat hearts for a dumpling in a sweet and sour sauce. check the Indian grocerys or ask at the local takeaway, they may have a store they buy there extras at.
