When the romans had found the orange, they had no colors and created the word oranguim. In the early 1800s, when theAmericans started using colors, we shortened the word orangium to orange, and an orange is the color orange. So when the Americans thought of the color orange, we thought of the fruit orange.

it's only in english.. other languages have different words for both

that is easy because they are the same coler inside and out

I think the fruit gave the color it's name. That would be my guess anyway. Then again, if that logic prevails, why don't we call yellow Lemon?

Because the color was named after the fruit.
