From the Black County Living Museum just outside Birmingham. Cooked to the original recipe in period fryers, and served in proper newspaper - delicious! (There's a reason the queue is so long!)
Geno's - Newport, Oregon - they also had the best cole slaw and a wonderful view of the bay

The Fish and chips were good too.
At Long John Silver's in McAlester, OK. They got seagulls from Lake Eufala gathered around that place too, so you get a view of seagulls picking out of the dumpsters just like you're at the ocean!
At Madigan's on Earl St. (there are several) in Dublin. Simply outrageous!!
Cambridge, UK! Near the river that runs through Kings College
The original Harry Ramsdens in Bingley, Yorkshire. The fish and chips were cooked in beef dripping and the restaurant even had chandeliers. The queue for the place (not plaice) was half way down the road.
North Shields Quay, Tyneside.
Bryan's in Leeds used to be far better than Harry Ramsden's
