Cooking question?!

Question:

Cooking question?

If I throw crablegs in a pot and boil them while they are frozen will they turn out bad? Should I wait and defrost them and if yes how long?

Answers:
I put them in a sink of cold water for a bit...you will see how fast they thaw...then put them in the boiling water for about 4 minutes. YUM! Enjoy!

thaw them first. bring the water to a boil, turn off, put in the crablegs (they are already cooked) you are just heating them!!!

Any meat or seafood that is frozen should be thaw out from the night before. This way the meat or fish food will look fresh and cook better.Placing frozen food in the skillet, to cook will take longer to cook.

No, they will be alright. You don't really boil them you steam them. Put about 2-3 inches of water in the bottom of the pot, drop in the crabs, put on a lid, and let water boil to steam the crabs. Keep the lid on checking to make sure the water hasn't boiled out.

I'm assuming you are talking Alaskan King crab legs. If so these are already cooked so you want to thaw them out in the frig and a real easy way to cook (reheat) them is to zap um.

Yes its fine. But while the water is getting heated add a Zaterains Seafood Boil in the bag, a lemon that has been quartered and a 1/2 cup of vinegar. You can also add some Old Bay seasoning if you desire some heat. I like to add my old bay at the end.

I read the other answers, and you do not have to thaw the legs. And steaming is good, but boiling is better and gets you more flavor and it allows for the shells to crack better.

Just boil them for about 15 minutes.
