Scallops: How long can I keep them in the fridge?!

Question:

Scallops: How long can I keep them in the fridge?

i just went to the fish market and bought some fresh scallops. I won't be cooking them today. How long can I keep them in the fridge? Freezer?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Answers:
1-2 days in the fridge or they get slimy and start going bad. Pop those suckers in the freezer until you decide what you want to do with them. They'll be fine for months.

I would say about 3 days in the fridge. They will keep much longer in the freezer though.

Fish is good in the fridge for a day or 2, don't keep it longer then 3 days because bacteria can start to grow.

Scallops should only be kept in the fridge uncooked 1-2 days.

Fresh Fish??? Expensive Fresh Fish??? Why, don't keep them any longer than necessary in the fridge-maybe a day, day and a half, max. You paid a lot of money just because the little mollusks were fresh when delivered-their flavor is so greatly diminished by drying out in the vacuum of your fridge. If they were fresh-frozen previously, re-freezing them's a mistake-you'll lose their texture--ugh! If fresh, rinse in fresh water, pat dry, then freeze inside airtight plasticwrap. Use ASAP.
