How long does ginger stay fresh in the freezer???

According to Rachel Ray, FOREVER.
Well I haven't tried putting ginger in the freezer because living it in my cupboard stays as long as 3 mths without even freezing them and by that time, I'd rather buy a new bunch anyways.
