Can someone come up with a recipe for HEALTHY yummy smoothies???

Fruit Smoothies

1 cup whole milk
1 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1/4 cup honey
2 bananas, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
1 pint fresh strawberries
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 to 2 cups crushed ice

In a large-capacity blender combine all of the ingredients and puree until smooth. (Alternatively, puree in batches if necessary.) Serve the smoothies in chilled tall glasses.

Mommy's Blueberry Banana Smoothies

1 container lowfat vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 banana
1 cup OJ

LOWFAT SMOOTHIE/SHAKE

Bananas or any other fruit
Skim milk
honey (optional for added sweetness)

Beforehand, peel and freeze bananas in a plastic bag. When you are ready, put 8 oz. of slim milk in a blender; Add bananas (1 is enough for a smoothie, 2 for a shake); Blend until smooth; Pour into a cup and enjoy! You can use any type of fresh fruit: Strawberries, apples, or oranges, the possibilities are endless!

1/2 banana frozen
1/2 cup milk
sweet and low

put in blender and enjoy

banana peanut butter and milk

Frozen Fruit Smoothies


1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced
2 cups frozen strawberries, raspberries, or cherries
1 cup milk
1/2 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
2 to 3 tablespoons honey or to taste

Put all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Pour into
glasses and serve.
Cooks note: For non-dairy smoothies, substitute 1 cup rice milk for the milk
and yogurt. Or, use soy yogurt or milk instead of dairy

1/4 blender orange juice
1/4 blender ice
Chopped strawberries
1 banana
5 almonds
1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 scoop vanilla ice cream

1 cup of your favorite fruit or combination of fruit
a handful of ice
some yogurt to taste if you want
blend
and enjoy :)

it's really fun to experiment and smoothies are hard to mess up so don't be such a stickler for recipes, if the texture or flavor isn't what you want it's easy to add more ice or fruit until you get exactly what you're looking for. have fun!

yoplait no calorie yogurt (the same flavor as your fruit)

Lowfat Fruit Smoothie
* 1 t. vanilla extract
* 3/4 c. lowfat soy milk or any other milk or non-dairy substitute)
* 1/2 c. White Grape Raspberry juice concentrate
* Sweet Raspberry Cream
* 2 ripe pears
* 1 frozen banana
* 6 ice cubes
- Place soy milk (or any other milk or non-dairy substitute) and all remaining ingredients in blender.

- Blend until smooth and creamy.



YOGURT SHAKE SMOOTHIE
1 C Plain yogurt
1 Small Banana
1 T Frozen orange juice
Sugar or honey, to taste
4 Ice cubes
Yields about 2 l/2 cups. Place all ingredients into blender or food processor. Whirl until smooth


PINEAPPLE TANGERINE MARGARITA SMOOTHIE
6 tangerines, tangelos, or mandarin oranges
2 cups fresh pineapple cubes, tightly packed (about 1/2 of a large
pineapple), or canned pineapple chunks
2 Tablespoons Fruitsource, rice syrup, or other sweetener
1 teaspoon lime juice
2 cups ice cubes
1/8 teaspoon mild chili powder
1 pinch salt
Pineapple wedges dipped in chili powder for garnish

Juice tangerines. You should have about 13/4 cups juice. Place in blender with pineapple, sweetener, lime juice, ice, chili powder, and salt. Blend on highest speed till smooth, about 30 seconds. Serve margaritas in goblets garnished with pineapple wedges.



BERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE
1/2 ~ 1 cup yogurt
1/2 ~ 1 banana
1/2 ~ 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 ~ 1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
Juice from one orange (when in a bind I have used orange juice from a carton) honey or sugar to taste.
Mix in blender till smooth.

ok it's easy. whatever fruits u've got on hand, freeze them up and then blend them with plain or vanilla yogurt (fat-free or low fat) for a healthy yummy smoothie. use fruits with natural sweetening flavor such as berries, mangoes, peaches, bananas, pineapples.. the list can go on and on. when they r sweet enuf, u dun need extra syrup etc. xxxx hv fun!
