My blender won't crush my ice, do you know of one that will?!

Question:

My blender won't crush my ice, do you know of one that will?

I have a smoothie almost everyday and I cannot seem to find a blender that will chop up all my ice, I am always left with large chunks. I just want my smoothies to be... you know... smooth.

My freezer only makes whole ice cubes no crushed ice, so I have to blend whole cubes. Price is not a problem, and do margarita makers work well?

You must have a Cuisinart.

Get an Oster. Any model will work.

A few years ago, I bought an Oster blender from eBay to make drinks and smoothies. It was cheap and ugly but it worked well. As my cooking skills evolved, the little workhorse kept up with me.

I tossed it last year to get a sexy Cuisinart. That piece of crap couldn't even make bread crumbs and the motor burned out when I was making a daily smoothie. I also had chunks. I had it less than a year!

I IMMEDIATELY bought an Oster blender/food processor and I will be loyal to them for life. As was my Mom as was my Grandmoms.

What kind of ice are you using, Fresh, or Frozen??

use those rocket blenders or whatever they are called, they work.

YES! A Vitamix will easily. I often add ice to my smoothies. Not only that but it really mixes up those blueberries and kiwi and strawberries. It is the best blender there is, which is why so many places use them. It does cost more, but I want to tell you it is worth every penny.

umm use smaller ice packets

Just get a ziploc bag that seals, and bang the ice around a couple of time.

The last thing you need is too jam up your blender, and not be able to have smoothies!
You COULD buy a smaller ice tray, but... I suggest breaking the ice around!

Good luck! P.S. though you have been provided blender alternatives, try out my idea first, instead of pouring money into a blender just for the use of smoothies!
