College aged people...help please! ( especially boys)?!

Question:

College aged people...help please! ( especially boys)?

When you were in college, and had very little money to buy food, what were some things that you missed, but couldn't really afford. I'm trying to come up with a full dinner for my brother. I'm thinking like brats, salad, fruit, and a good dessert, but I'd really like more ideas. Thanks!

Answers:
I really missed the things my mom used to make. If your mom made something special that you guys ate as kids try that. Also, I don't know where he goes to school but my cafeteria doesn't have cold or hot deserts only things like cookies and cake that sit out. So maybe try something like warm pie with ice cream. Leftovers are always great too if he has a dorm fridge!

ground beef and macarroni, spaghetti, chicken fajitas.... beans, steak, rice

Salads, ceasur salads, chicken salad, Soup, noddles

i like salads :P

Good luck

Anything homemade. I can't afford, or have the time, cook to some things from scratch.

I'd say tacos, spaghetti, or meatloaf. Meatloaf is my cousin's favorite meal when he comes home from college on break.

I know I'm not a guy but how about fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravey, southren style green beans. My brother always wanted that when he came home from school. Plus he would take the extra chicken with him when he went back to school. Chicken is always better the next day.

meatloaf and mashed potatoes with peas for the side. There is nothing like a cold meatloaf sandwich the next day!
