How to cook a steak indoors?!

Question:

How to cook a steak indoors?

I love steak. But I usually cook it on the BBQ grill. I wanted to know, how would I be able to grill a steak indoors? Like in the over at temp set at 350 degrees or more? Any recipe help would be great! I'm new at this.

Answers:
if you have a gas range I would suggest getting one of those aluminum stove top grills. They cover two burners and usually have a griddle on the other side. They give a good grilling surface when you want to cook indoors.

Inside I cook it in a grille pan - a heavy ribbed cast iron pan. I get it not quite smookin' hot and put in the seasoned meat; about 3 minutes on each side depending on how you like it done and how thick the meat!
.

Okay, what kind of oven do you have? If it is gas, you can broil the steak under the oven underneath the flame. There should be a shallow drawer underneath the oven and if you look at the top of the "drawer" with the oven lit, you will see the flame. If it is an electric oven, you will see a second heating element at the top of the oven. Set the electric oven, or the gas one to broil, put the steak on a cookie sheet or another flat pan you may find that has holes in it and fits into another slightly larger pan. Put the pan with the steak on it into the oven for about ten to 15min for each side. Otherwise you can pan cook it on the top of the stove in a heavy frying pan.

i wouldn't use bake, try the broil and look up some recipices such as london broil, fillet mignon and you will find something

I do not recommend pan fry or cookie sheet - use broil tray

I like to pan fry, or broil with a splash of green Tabasco, and seasoning.

Well I'm no expert and if you are likelie me you have already cooked .baked ,broiled ,brunt your steak? but I tell ya what I love my steak marrinated in TERR. sauce with onions ,mushrooms ,greenpeppers, slow roasted in oven 350 for about 45 min .all dependes on how thick it is ?? lots of times I brtoiil it for 2/3 hours . Good luck.

I cook mine in a skillet on the stove. Heat a cast iron or non-stick with i tablespoon butter until pretty hot. Carefully put
in steak. Don't be in a hurry to flip. Check after a few minutes. When you have a good sear (brown, slightly crusty),
flip, do the same on the other side. Check to desired done-ness with a meat thermometer. You can also use a cast
iron skillet in the oven with the broiler on in the same method.
(Be sure to leave the oven door cracked a bit when using the
broiler).

Ingredients:

* 4 Rib-eye steaks, roughly 250 g each

Marinade

* 4 Red chilies, de-seeded and chopped
* 2 tbsp Allspice
* 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
* A pinch of Nutmeg
* 2 tsp Paprika
* 6 Spring Onions, chopped
* 4 cloves Garlic, crushed
* 2 tbsp White Wine Vinegar
* 5 tbsp Olive oil
* Salt and Pepper

Method:

* Mix all the marinade ingredients and blend until a paste is formed.
* Coat both sides of each steak with a layer of the paste.
* Wrap each steak separately in a cling film and leave in the fridge overnight or for at least 3 hours.
* Grill or pan fry the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each

You can use one of those grill plates that sit on top of the stove, they are great and you can buy them from any homeware store.

Just heat up a frying pan big enough to fit the steak, and while it is heating, sprinkle the steak with garlic salt or pepper or whatever seasonings you usually add. You know the pan is hot enough to add the steak when you spritz the pan with water and the water sizzles away instantly. Then add the steak, and adjust the heat on your stovetop from high to medium or maybe lower, depending on how rare you like your steaks! The basic cooking principles still apply...

Get a George Forman Grill. I love mine and it'll grill just like the outdoors but faster and leaner!
