Name of Japanese bread?!

Question:

Name of Japanese bread?

There's this Pan bread you can get at Japanese bakeries, its really soft and has a sweet layer all over the top of it... Does anyone know the name of it?

Answers:
I think you are talking about メロンパン melon pan, or melon bun.

Melon Pan is a round bun baked with a sweet biscuit layer on top. The inside bun is soft and not very sweet, but the top layer is sweet and crispy.

They call is Melon Pan because the top biscuit layer has a pattern that resembles the texture of a cantaloupe melon. The original recipe didn't have any melon in it, thought recently in Japan there are some that has melon puree in it and is very, very good.

I love melon pan myself actually. :)
