I have some fantastic barbeque sauces I brought home with me from Kansas City. On a gas grill, what would be the best meat to prepare with them and how should I do it?

I am not a fan of gas grill. It's like cooking on a stove outside.

Put the sauces in hamburger beef and make patties then grill them (bacon cheese burgers?)

First thing I would do is go buy a Charcoal grill, you can get them fairly cheap, you don't need a fancy one.
Buy some pork ribs to cook on the new charcoal grill.
You can buy different woods to use like mesquite to help give the meat a better flavor too.

Ummm KC BBQ sauces.
I find that when using BBQ sauce it is better to cook your meats the way you prefer. Then about 15 minutes before you are ready to eat brush a good thick coat over the meat.
That way the BBQ sauce doesnt burn, but it still give it that nice flavor.
Suggestions:
Spare ribs, nice slow flame for several hours.. turning often, done when tender.
Beef Brisket, cook very slowly ( I cook mine at about 170 degrees) Dont add the BBQ sauce to the meat. but serve in on the side. Will take better part of the day if you cook it slow enough, be sure to keep the meat sopped (beer, butter, lots of good spice)
BBQ Chicken, Parboil chicken until almost done, then grill until juices run clear, add BBQ sauce 10-15 minutes before taking off grill, be sure to turn the heat down .
BBQ burgers Add BBQ sauce to the hamburger before grilling.

I'll leave the spices up to you, I have different spices I use with beef, pork and chicken..
Nothing beats a good grilled steak or spare ribs with fresh tomatoes in the heat of the summer. Enjoy.

The bottle should have suggestions for what meats are best. Cooking on a gas grill differs little than cooking on a charcoal grill, or broiling/baking in a regular oven. Time/temperature will vary depending, primarily, on the size and thickness of the piece of meat. Kansas style BBQ sauces have a high sugar content either from sugar, brown sugar, molasses, corn syrup or high fructose corn syrup or a combination. Baste/mop the BBQ sauce on the meat only in the last few minutes of cooking because the sugar will burn and you'll have a charcoal crust on your meat.

chicken, it absorbs the flavor best. To prepare it read directions first, sometimes each sauce has different steps. If their are no directions simply apply the sauce in the last 5- 10 min. of barbecuing.

Chicken, pork and beef can all be wonderful with bbq sauce. If you can't get Memphis bbq sauce, I'm sure KC will do fine - but then, I'm biased.
One suggestion I might have for you is mix 1 cup soaked wood chips with 1 cup dry - seal in foil pouch. Poke holes through foil with fork - more holes = more smoke. throw pouch on lower rack - wait for smoke to appear - then begin grlling. Season pork or chicken with a dry rub for cooking and then no more than 5 minutes before meat is done begin basting with bbq sauce (bbq sauce has sugar and burns if left on too long) You want a bit of caramelization for sauce, but don't burn.
Using this method, you can compensate a bit for not using charcoal. Your meat will still have a smoked flavor with layers of bbq flavor on top of that.

Chicken is always a good meat to use on the grill and recently I found that a thick cut pork chop does well too. My suggestion for preparing is just simply getting your favorite spices together and give them a good rub with them, then refrigerate for a couple of hours in order to give the meat some time to soak up the seasoning. I normally pull the meat out of the fridge about 20-30 minutes before placing it on the grill as to try and pull some of the coolness out of the meat to give it a more even cooking temperature. Another good idea is to make sure you allow the gas grill to preheat, that way you're not waiting for the grill to get hot after you've already put the meat on. I always experiment too, try different things. Shrimp is also a good thing to try and you'd be surprised how good bbq shrimp tastes...just don't overcook, they get very chewy if you overcook, you can tell they are done when they turn a bright pink.
