14 and addicted to coffee?!

Question:

14 and addicted to coffee?

allright, thankfully its summer, because my addiction to coffee is kind of messing me up.

lately i sleep all day and im up all night because of how much coffee i drink. i get it from my moms coffee pot in the kitchen and yesterday i didint get to sneak any (but i deffinately was thinking about it all day) and i ended up getting a killer headache.

is this anything to worry about or is this normal responce when you first start drinking coffee?

Answers:
Honey you are perfectly fine, there is no reason to see a doctor. I have been a coffee drinker most my life, even before my teenage years. You will just have to learn when is appropriate to drink and when is not. At afternoon and night you typically want to start drinking decaf if it is necessary. Over time you will create an immunity, as you could call it, and it won't wire you SO much, this will just take time. You do need to limit yourself, too much can give you a killer headache, but now that you are addicted too little will do the same! It's just like every other addiction, you have to ease off of it not just jump off the train all at once. Just use your brain when thinking about it, remember what caffeine does when your drinking it. (it wakes you up!) Over time you develop a sense of control over yourself with the coffee you can maybe take a night out of the week where you go have ONE grande drink at Starbucks with your friends.

Also! Welcome to the club. ;)

um, yea, but i recommend seeing a doctor, just in case.
COFFEE RULES! GOL (giggle out loud).
When i first tried coffee, i couldn't stop drinking, but now i'm hooked on iced-tea...!

your OK but you should stop drinking coffee

Coffee is soo xool, I love Nescafe` Hazel Nut, I don't drink, only when I have to stay up to study for exams, which is not alot, you drinking coffee is normal, but its not good at this age or any for that fact, why not try ice cappuccinno or hot cappuccino? if you are hooked on coffee then you should totally love this, and you could get the cappuccino mix and make it at home, it more healthy than coffee, but it makes you just as hyper, and my experience says that it tastes a whole lot better too...
