Can you name an Italian recipe that doesn't have pasta or tomato?!
Answers:
Veal saltimbocca. Veal scallopine pounded thin and topped with prosciutto, sage, sometimes a slice of soft cheese like taleggio, and usually served with some sort of butter sauce.
Here are some very common dishes/items found in North America:
Italian sausage
Risotto
Shrimp scampi
Garlic bread
Ciabatta
Calamari
Prosciutto
They are all over the place and there are tons of them. :)
