If i freeze salad, will it keep good?!

Question:

If i freeze salad, will it keep good?

ok, i just made a HUGE salad, and it is going to ruin if i dont do anything with it. i was just wondering if i could freeze it with out it ruining? it has romaine and red lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, (im not sure about the spellings so just bear with me.) carrots, parsley, mushrooms, and string beans. i didnt put dressing on it thinking that it might ruin, so can if freeze it or not?

Answers:
No, you cant freeze lettuce, it will turn to a soggy brown disgusting mess. It will keep in the fridge for several days. If you can fit it in your crisper section it will keep even longer, just dont add dressing, tomatoes or cheese, or it will go soggy

NO, ITS GOING TO CHANGE THE LETTUCE COVER TIGHTLY,AND ENJOY TOMORROW, GOOD IDEA NOT TO PUT THE DRESSING, NAMASTE

anything you freeze, you will only want to cook with later

definately not lettuce, but you may be able to salvage the rest for a stir fry or something

Lettuce is the only vegetable that cannot be frozen or canned. Sorry.

yes it will stay good

No - salad has high water content so it wil turn to ice

The lettuce will be awful on freezing because of its high moisture content and look quite messy on thawing too, but the rest of them should be fine.

You cant freeze lettuce.

I freeze my salads all the time!! I don't know what these people are talking about? Of course, it won't be salad when it thaws. I add mine to spaghetti sauce, stir fry, etc. to increase the nutritional content and fiber. It does get brown when you freeze it, but as far as I know the nutrition is preserved?
