How do you make a cold tea?!

Question:

How do you make a cold tea?

How do you make a COLD tea with ready-to-go packets that you buy at the store?? Do you just put it in colder water, or is there something else? (Someone told me they put extra things in tea when they make it cold, but I can't imagine what...)

Answers:
You make tea following the instructions and mix it with sugar. If you use cold water it won't work. If you mix the sugar after it cools it won't dissolve easily and you'll need more. Then you wait until it cools and add ice.

Just make it like hot tea, but then chill it.

Just put it in cold water...

You can make suntea with tea bags and cold water and a glass jar. Just set it in the sun for two or three hours, then chill in your fridge. It's extra mild!

You can add extra stuff to cold tea, but it's not necessary. For example, you could make ice cubes with lemonade, and add that to your tea for a little citrus twist.

If you add sugar to cold tea, it's best to dissolve it in a little hot water, first. Otherwise, you might get a sludge of sugar down at the bottom of the cup.

u cant u hav 2 put ice in it

I don't think you can make it quick. Ice tea is best made with the "sun" tea method. That is where you put a bunch of teabags, like 6 or so, in a gallon jar and set it in the sun for a few hours, longer is better. In the winter I would just let it soak overnight at room temperature. You then put it in the fridge and enjoy the next day, or just pour it over ice right away and enjoy. Put more or less bags depending on how strong you like your iced tea.

Hi! If you use like Lipton tea bags. I put 1 large in a pan with water and boil and let sit,so it steeps. Then put it in a pitcher and add cold water. Put sugar to taste. Or you can even buy tea bags now that are made for cold water. They are also very good. Hope this helped. God Bless.

Ok coming from the South, we make our tea hot (brew it) you can boil the water or i know somtimes i will run it through the coffee maker, or Sun Tea is also good, but back on point. After you have brewed the tea add suger or limon or what ever else you want, then chill in the fridge, or with ICE then Serve.

Speciality of the South :D

There are a few ways. One of the tea companies now has cold-brew tea bags that specifically are made never to need hot water, but the tea produced isn't quite the same as traditional iced tea. To me, anyway.

Traditional iced tea is made by brewing tea with boiling hot water just like you would for hot tea, then pouring the tea over ice (or refrigerating). Sun tea is made by leaving tea bags in a gallon of water (cold from the tap) out in teh sun, and letting the tea steep slowly as the sun heats the water. And, you can cold brew tea by just leaving some tea bags in cold water in the refrigerator at least overnight, if not a full 24 hours -- you will never get a strong tea this way, but it does make cold green tea that I like.
