it varies......they just shuffle them in..........I worked at one 30 yrs ago....they take a tool (for lack of better word) and put them in
I agree with jadedheart.. the device, is like a trash scooper (like the kind you use with a hand broom) but instead up scooping up trash it scoops up fries and comes out the smaller back end. I'm sure someone could give you a ball park range if they were bored enough to bother. Sorry I couldn't give you a proper answer. I always get the small anyway.
