because Dr. Pepper came out with the diet cherry vanilla Dr Pepper. and they do rotations according to seasons. summer is coming up, and a lot of people like ice cream and feel guilty about eating it, so they drink the flavor
I think the flavored ones are a waste. Back when I used to drink pop, I would just get a big pepsi and flavor my particular glass with vanilla or lemon, or whatever else I wanted. It gives more variety.
