Chinese food advice?!

Question:

Chinese food advice?

I am trying to watch what I eat and am wondering is beef and black beacn with rice low in fat and calories??
Good option to choose......

Answers:
It really depends on the type of beef you're using, the spices, and your plate size.

If you use low fat beef... yes low in fat. If you use any sauce with sugar.. you've just increased the calories. Use wild or brown rice instead of white rice.

Suggestion... stir fry the beef in a garlic olive oil == add a little soy, onions, broccoli, beans, -- better than the black bean sauce for you.

It can be if you prepare it at home or get it steamed at a resturant. Commercial Chinese food is generally high in fat as it usually swims in oil. Beans of any sort are excellent for you and the darker the rice (brown) has more nutrition than plain white but both are good for you. Lean cuts of beef (sirloin, london broil ect...) are also good for you in moderation.

Short of steamed rice there is no low fat Chinese food, even most of the veggie dishes are swimming in it! The Beef and Black Bean dish served over rice will not be too bad though you should be OK, you could ask the restaurant you order from to cut back on the fat for you though, most will do so if asked.

I would think if you got steamed it would be healthier...not sure if low fat or calories just healthier if asked for with out oil and steamed...although maybe pick a veggie dish or chicken and have it steemed.

Beans are very high in calories, carbohydrates and FAT. Beef is also not great while on a diet-try grilled or baked fish or chicken instead.

Exercise is even more important. My wife, the health nut, dragged me, a hard working man, to some health store for a blood test. Some guy pricked our fingers for a sample of blood and showed us our red cells. He reported on the health of our blood cells. I caused quite a stir in that health store. Everyone crowded around. The guy said I had the best blood he had ever seen. Everyone wanted to see what that looked like. They eagerly wanted to know what special diet I ate. They were all disappointed when they realized that my work gave me a lot of exercise, and the exercise gave me the great looking red blood cells. The excitement died down. That's not what they wanted to hear, especially when they found out I was not like them. What did you eat today? Oh I was too busy, so I chugged down a quart of chocolate milk. So those milk white sickly bodies turned away. I was so amused. Me, with the best blood in the house, not neurotic about what I eat -- a high octane body. A no-account in that world. Yet, I learned something that I had not realized and that is how important exercise is to health. Throw in a balanced diet (and some pie from time to time) and exercise and more exercise and lots of sleep.
