Why cant u eat cheese at night before bed.?!

Question:

Why cant u eat cheese at night before bed.?

Answers:
The theory is that it gives you nightmares - but its really an old wives tale.

Comes from the olden days when people used to eat bread and cheese for their supper, and they'd blame it on the cheese if they had bad dreams.

nightmares, the cheese carn't be digested in the short time before you go to bed and is supose to make you uncomfortable and affect your thinking process giving you bad dreams.

They say it gives you nightmares. But that came from people years ago drinking copious amounts of alcohol and probable opium; then blaming their weird hallucinations on the bread and cheese they ate for dinner!

Because they say then you get nightmares if you eat cheese before you go to bed.

Oh but you can!!!! the extra calcium will help you sleep better .
In fact there was research about 16 mths ago recommending different cheeses to promote different types of dreams perhaps you can research that ?

u'll get fat!!

Because it will kill you, or you will go into a cheese coma.

I can - maybe it's an age thing ... at 48 i'm fine. Old story saying cheese before bed would give you nightmares. Perhaps cheese right at bed time will upset the digestives.

The old thing saying warm milk will help you sleep. I find cold milk mixed with plain yogurt and some crushed ice helps me sleep better.

Keep asking and try the suggestions ... if they're not too wierd, that is. There'll be something to suit you.

You can but old wives tale says it causes nightmares??????????who knows.......

I had a weird collection of cheese, baloney, corn bread, dill pickles and milk last night before bed and it didn't bother me a bit but I'm a pro. Don't try this at home. Happy eating.
