Question:

Help ..Can I use Monosodium glutamate or Ajinomoto instead of Salt .?

Answers:
*Yes !!!! U can !!!
But if u want to use MSG, then why avoid salt ???
Salt is the lesser of the two evils !!!!!

Better not Ajinomoto enhances the flavor of the food, but it is not good for your health if i were you i would use pepper as a replacement for salt.

No You cant. As Ajinomoto is being use to add flavor. It is like chicken stock but bad for health. It doesnt give the salty taste.

It is OK to use MSG, there are no scientific findings on the adverse affects of MSG on human health, and Chinese Restaurant Syndrome is an unscientific urban misinformation. If it is bad for health then why the FDA is still allowing it to be consumed? Dont be misled by organic food zealots who like their eggs "free-range". As if.

Not advised... The full effects of MSG and Ajinomoto are not yet known and there is a lot of debate on their safety. .... In any case salt seems to be the safest bet....Why take chances??

A ref for u:---
"The MSC is a group of symptoms that can occur in many people after the consumption of fairly large amounts of MSG. In susceptible individuals the MSC is most likely to occur about 15 to 25 minutes after the consumption of at least 2-3g of MSG without solid food and on an empty stomach. Typical symptoms such as a burning or heat sensation in the face, neck and upper torso may be accompanied by a feeling of tightness or stiffness in the chest, arms and/or back. There may also be a feeling of weakness, heart palpitations, and diffuse pain in the chest area. These symptoms typically begin to subside within 20 to 30 minutes after they start. Typically the MSC is gone completely within an hour and never last as long as two hours.[3] "

MSG is being removed from chinese food because of the bad side effects so why use instead of salt. Why don't you NOT use any of the ingredients you have mentioned. It be healthier for you.

Ajinomoto is not a substitute for common salt... it is used for a particular taste in Chinese dishes in addition to common salt...
Do not use it in Indian dishes... Indiscriminate use of ajinomoto may, sometimes result in mild headache... however harmless... be careful about the quantity for each serving...

No... MSG & ajinomoto is not good for health... normal salt is better...

In response to paperlives answer. The FDA aloows us to use alot of things that are bad for our health. Fast food restaurants are all enhanced foods that make us addicted. They claim to be trying to make us better, but the reality of it is, they are not. The more sick people there are, the more money the FDA makes on prescription drugs and treatments. They continually try to make claims that vitamins and supplements have no health benefits at all. They arent making money off of it. They want to try and convince as many people as they can that it doesnt work. Apparently its working for some people. The biggest evidence of the government making money off us. They could easily put a cap on all our cars making it so we cant go faster than a certain speed. BUt, why do that when they are making a killing off of all of us because of speeding tickets. There is alot of things that they do that make you think its for our benefit but, its totally not.
So to answer ur question, Dont do it. Even tho salt isnt the greatest thing for you either, MSG or Ajinomoto is extremely bad for you. It has alot of reactions that arent fun. Thirdkarma listed a bunch that are true. Try to avoid these things as much as possible.
